I'm happy to report too, that the kind salesman at Home Depot told me how to keep the squirrels away.
Safflower seed. They don't like it all. Yay!

mom, i never heard of them. i looked it up in my book...looks like he's a red bellied wood pecker. we had one in NC too.
but there's a couple of sparrows (i think) that are different than in NC. wish you were out here to help me figure them out by name.
